In the US, a Resume is a one-page summary, while a CV is a long academic document. However, in Egypt and the MENA region, the terms are used interchangeably.
The "Egyptian Style" CV
When an Egyptian recruiter asks for a "CV", they usually mean a comprehensive document that includes:
- Personal Information (including age/military status for men)
- Education
- Experience
- Skills
- Language Proficiency
Unlike the US style, including a photo is still very common and often expected in sectors like Sales, Customer Service, and Hospitality.
